A beautiful marina overflowing with exquisite yachts and a crowd all waiting in expectation of the start of the Monaco Grand Prix - how could his possibly be improved? By lighting it up with some spectacular Proteus Hybrids, that's how!
A magnificent marquee (provided by the best in the business - our friends from Covered Occasions), delicious food, superb wines and guests from around the world. Add lighting by APS and you have the party of the year in beautiful, rural E.Sussex.
As a romantic setting, Stoke Park is hard to beat. Set in the glorious countryside of Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire, this gorgeous country house hotel, spa and golf course is a favourite place for those celebrating Valentine's Day. To make it even more special, APS were asked to light up the the building in various shades with a few of our SGM P10s and highlight the tower on the top of the cupola with our incredibly powerful Proteus Hybrids.
In the beautiful Cotswold village of Upper Slaughter we were asked to do something a bit different. The client had a saxophonist booked as part of the evening's entertainment and wanted a dramatic finale to his set.
Highclere Castle, the home of The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon (and, of course, Downton Abbey), was also the location for the launch of the new Highclere Castle London Dry Gin. The specially invited guests were treated to a drinks reception with dancing girls, a carousel and various entertainers (like the human statue, below!)
We were very pleased to be asked, by our friends, Thames Water and Stanley Electronics, to work with them to light up the Tilehurst water tower as part of the Turn Tilehurst Red event in commemoration of the centenary of Armistice Day. The end result drew huge crowds and was featured on BBC’s South Today as well as BBC Radio Berkshire, Heart FM and LBC Radio.
We feel it is very important to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
APS have a number of commercial and retail clients that we have created installations for to raise awareness and increase footfall and linger-time.
Working with renowned artist, Stuart Melrose, we designed and built this incredible attraction. The aim was to create an installation where the surrounding environment reacted to the actions of people. To do this, we obtained a High-Striker machine and heavily modified it to run on batteries and with wireless data connections to the Thames Tower building. The building itself was filled with individually controlled lights on every floor that would show the results of each ‘test of strength’.
Nothing can be more romantic than to get married in a woodland clearing surrounded by beautiful countryside. APS’s brief was to make this happen.
First the venue. Our clients decided on The Wasing Estate near Aldermaston in Berkshire. This really fitted the bill with ancient woods and a lake creating a beautiful setting, and other features, such as firepits, which would work well with their ‘festival’ theme.
Bruce Springsteen has a phase that he often uses during his legendary live performances. It is simply “Light it up!”. He does not mean himself, the band or the stage. He just means “Light it up” - and ‘it’ means everything. They are the words that lighting crews love to hear…
